Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine who was a lab technician and John Ormond (a stockbroker) located in Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the fifth of five children to her parents. Her first performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. She later attended Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After a single year at art school, she was transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 1988. Ormond made her first appearance on British television's 1989 serial Traffik. It was about illegal heroin trade between Far East as well as the streets of Europe. Ormond was the heroin-addicted daughter of the lead character and was also a Home Office minister working to combat heroin importation. The role was a hit and received overwhelmingly positive reviews.
