Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multicultural family. Her birthplace was in South London. Her mother and father were both English. She grew up in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned the BA in acting. During her time at the academy, she appeared in several performances on stage, such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. She has since made appearances on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha in The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured on six of the episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. Madekwe played Bambi as Bambi in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). Some of her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. Following her appearance as a regular on the first two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that she would quit the show following her appearance on the pilot episode of the third season. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba on the show Salem. From June to July 2012, the actress was married to her long-time love actor Iddo Goldberg. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also played as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress was born into a huge family in Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents Roy and Patty and her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks since the four brothers who were athletic played baseball, hockey, and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley was not a walker, but she would dance. At age two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley began to be a dancer following this. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, tap and jazz at the top divisions. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
